Using one street to tell universal stories—from hyperlocal to global
In an increasingly globalised and digitised world, Ricarda Messner advocates exploration of local spaces at a slower pace. Using her magazine Flaneur as a starting point, she explained how we can begin to look at cities differently.
Ricarda Messner is a native Berliner. Three years ago, she had the idea of founding and publishing Flaneur Magazine, a publication which depicts one street in a different city with every issue. She enjoys the print medium so much, she has recently devoted herself to additional publication adventures (SOFA magazine). And most importantly she is a passionate collector of fortune cookies.
Ricarda talked on Flaneur magazine and the relationship between the hyperlocal and the global in telling universal stories.
